‘Chicago Med’ key art pays tribute to ‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Chicago PD’

As you may have heard recently, there has been a little bit of a change-up in regards to the way in which NBC is doing things in the fall. Due to Melissa George’s pregnancy, the upcoming medical drama “Heartbreaker” has been temporarily shelved. It will eventually premiere at some point in midseason, though there is not that much else known for the time being.

With this, the network has bumped forward the “Chicago Fire” spin-off “Chicago Med,” and it will ironically now be the first of the Dick Wolf series to premiere more than likely. (NBC has not technically released their full list of premieres dates just yet.) We have the first look at the key art for the series today, which we like for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it gives you a sense of the important characters almost right away. Also, it pays tribute to the two other wings of the Chicago franchise. (With that being said, we easily can tell that the “Chicago Fire” part of it is just photoshopped over from that show’s third-season key art.)

“Chicago Med” is coming aboard with an established cast including Laurie Holden, and also some natural crossovers that will most likely happen often. With that said, it has a simple challenge: Trying to figure out how in the world to stand out! This is a very competitive genre of TV, especially this year given that CBS is launching “Code Black,” “Grey’s Anatomy” is currently on the air, and there is also the aforementioned “Heartbreaker.” How much health care can people take?
