‘The Simpsons’ spoilers: Homer and Marge are not getting divorced!

More -For those wondering just what the future holds for Marge and Homer on “The Simpsons,” we come bearing this news: Their marriage is not going to be coming to a complete end, despite what you are hearing in some dark corners of the internet.

More often than not, there is always some sort of source for where a rumor begins, and when it comes to the idea of these two iconic characters divorcing, it seems for the most part to be coming from an interview with Variety that executive producer Al Jean, one where he spoke in some detail about what could be happening on season 27. One particular story regarding Homer and a pharmacist voiced by Lena Dunham seems to be, at least for the most part, where all of this started:

“In the premiere, it’s discovered after all these years Homer has narcolepsy and it’s an incredible strain on the marriage. Homer and Marge legally separate, and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who’s voiced by Lena Dunham. We’ll have cameos from the other women from “Girls.” We have an episode coming up where Lisa befriends a homeless woman who turns out to be an incredible singer. The woman’s voiced by Kate McKinnon, but the singing is done by Natalie Maines. In another episode, Spider Pig makes his return. Sideshow Bob appears in a segment, and we finally see him do something he’s wanted to do for 25 years. And we have an episode based on the film “Boyhood.” It’s a flashback/flashforward about Bart. We go to various points in his life and his life to come which I think came out really well.”

After talk started to surface that Marge and Homer could actually be finished, both Jean and the show itself have confirmed that there is no end coming for the couple. They are not getting divorced, and this is probably just one little story that plays out over the course of 30 minutes.

The moral to this story is to not believe everything you hear on social media, though this is a lesson you really should have heard many times by now.
