‘The Bastard Executioner’: San Diego Comic-Con to feature first look at Kurt Sutter’s ‘Sons of Anarchy’ follow-up
For those of you just as intrigued as we are to see what comes out of Kurt Sutter’s follow-up to “Sons of Anarchy” in “The Bastard Executioner,” we come today bearing news: You may not have to wait all that long at all … provided of course that you are in San Diego for Comic-Con.
FX announced today that on Sunday, July 12 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific in the famous Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center, there will be an “exclusive world premiere first-look” at the medieval drama, which stars Lee Jones, Katey Sagal, Stephen Moyer, and many more. It is a show that is at the top of our personal list of programs we’re most excited to see, but to date the network has been very coy when it comes to handing out details beyond of course the cast. (We did see some great behind-the-scenes stuff back during the production of the pilot.)
This event is going to also feature some other FX series, including the upcoming “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” and also the second season of “The Strain,” which is coming back on the air this summer. The network is in a bit of a reloading mode right now; with “Sons of Anarchy” and “Justified” now over, they are establishing more of what could be their massive hits for years to come.
The first season of “The Bastard Executioner” is currently slated to premiere later this year, and just as we’ve been here every step of the way with more news, that is not going to stop now.
