‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5: Sean Maguire, Rebecca Mader, co-creator respond to promotions

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty great one when it comes to “Once Upon a Time,” as some officially promotions were handed out to Sean Maguire (Robin Hood) and Rebecca Mader (Zelena). Given where we left off at the end of season 4, this is not much of a surprise to us at all. Also, Robin seems to be endgame for Regina at this point, and Zelena is a formidable rival, as well to Lana Parrilla’s character.

Below, you can see reactions from both Mader and Maguire, though the latter is actually celebrating while also dealing with a ton of pain in the hospital because of a burst appendix. Don’t worry; he should be more than find to be back at work right well before time production begins again on the new season. You can also see a reaction from fearless leader / co-creator Adam Horowitz.

There are so many reasons to celebrate promotions like this, given that we like having the characters around, and they’ll bring something new to the show. There’s also something great to celebrate here from a professional perspective. There is a lot uncertainty when your profession is an actor, especially on TV when you can be brought in for a few episodes with no guarantee that you will be brought back. Being a regular ensures you a certain degree of job security, that you will be employed for at least a good year and you therefore don’t have to worry.

While this is no guarantee that you will see either Mader or Maguire in every episode, you better believe that they will at least have a strong role in everything to come.
