‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7: Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, more return to San Diego Comic-Con

Damon -Are you ready to sink your fangs into “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” at San Diego Comic-Con? It is a tradition for the two series to be present at the convention, and both are going to be making quite a splash. To us, the biggest surprise is mostly that their panels are being done on separate days.

Let’s start with “The Originals,” since it is being done first on Friday, July 10. and many familiar faces will be in attendance including Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Leah Pipes, Danielle Campbell and Charles Michael Davis to go along with executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci. Hopefully around this time we’ll get a better sense of who else could be turning up; if nothing else, maybe we’ll learn in the process about a few new guest stars!

As for “The Vampire Diaries,” the panel for that show will happen on Sunday, July 12 with Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Kat Graham, Candice Accola and Michael Malarkey along with Plec and fellow EP Caroline Dries. That is obviously a very different panel from years past; Nina Dobrev, Steven R. McQueen, and Michael Trevino have all departed for other endeavors. This panel is going to be especially interesting given all the question marks that some out there have about the new season, and what it will look like with so many different people involved.

July is going to be a very busy month for both series, given that production for the two of them will be taking place starting this summer in Atlanta.
