‘Switched at Birth’ season 4 spoilers: Expect more trouble for Bay and others

When “Switched at Birth” returns to ABC Family with all-new episodes a little bit later this summer, you can expect to see a wide array of both difficult and dramatic situations. Also, we expect Bay to be at the center of many of them after a traumatic situation with Tank and then eventually a split from Emmett. It’s hard to imagine her having a worse batch of episodes.

Moving forward, what is going to happen? It appears that Kathryn is also going to face some hard times while also trying to be a source of comfort for others. Let’s just say that she has quite a bit on her personal plate, judging from what Lea Thompson had to say on the subject in a new interview with E! News:

“With Bay dealing with the fallout from her breakup, Kathryn always tries to keep a stiff upper lip and keep everyone moving forward with a lighter touch … She’s going to move forward with her musical, but she’s also going to get hit with a lot of new drama. There’s going to be big financial problems with John and Kathryn and that’s going to be really challenging. They’re so used to being able to fix everything and being the mama and papa bear, but they can’t this time and that’s going to be really hard on them.”

Sure, we’d like to say that things were going to be easier for Kathryn, Bay, Daphne, or any other character on the show moving forward, but when is that ever true? Happiness does come for some of these characters eventually, but it does take some time.
