‘Outlander’ season 2 spoilers: Meet some of the first new characters

Jamie -The second season of “Outlander” is going to feature a fairly drastic change in setting, given that we are going from a show set in Scotland to one that is moving all the way over to France. Therefore, you have to imagine that there will be a pretty significant shift in some of the people that you see on the screen … at least other than Jamie and Claire, of course.

So who will some of these new faces be in Paris? One of them already has a very direct tie to Jamie in the form of his cousin. Per a report from Access Hollywood, Robert Cavanah has been booked to play the part of Jared Fraser, a wine merchant in France’s most-populous and historical city. Meanwhile, E! News reports that we will see actor Stanley Weber in the role of French Le Comte St. Germain. While we are not a reader of Dragonfly in Amber, we do assume that these characters will have some sort of major role to play in the story coming up.

The second season of “Outlander” is already in production, and it will most likely be that way for a good chunk of the rest of the year (if not all of it). Starz has not officially announced when the series will return, but our assumption is that it will probably be at some point next year after the new season of “Black Sails” finishes. Given that there are 13 episodes this time in comparison to the 16 for season 1, then plan will probably be to air them all in one batch rather than separate them, which was the way in which the series aired over the past twelve months.

We’ll have some other casting news as it starts to surface, given that we hardly assume that this is going to be it when it comes to information of this capacity. You can read some of the other news that we have right now on the show over at the link here.
