‘Chicago Med’ spoilers: Showrunner for ‘Chicago Fire’ spin-off specifically revealed!

While there are three different Chicago-set series coming on NBC, one of the interesting things about it is that none of them are actually coming on at the same time. Dick Wolf’s “Chicago PD” will be on most likely starting in September, and the awkward thing about that is that some of the “Chicago Fire” cliffhanger endings could be addressed in this episode.

As for “Chicago Med,” you’re going to be waiting for quite a while in order to see that premiere! Why is that? It is a simple matter of the fact that the show is not going to be starting until midseason. According to a new report from Deadline, Andrew Dettmann of “CSI” and “Body of Proof” is going to be aboard as the main overseer of the show. He knows a little bit about the responsibilities of showrunner, and we imagine that he will work extensively with Wolf, Matt Olmstead of “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD,” and also Warren Leight of “Law & Order: SVU.”

While there is a great deal of connectivity between all of the different shows under the Dick Wolf umbrella, the primary priority is still more than likely going to be the same: Working hard in order to ensure that the best show possible ends up on the air, and that viewers can watch and enjoy this even if they do not watch any other. Medical dramas do tend to have their own audience, and NBC does have a reputation to uphold here coming off of the success of “ER.”

We will have more “Chicago Med” news while you wait for it to premiere; stay tuned!
