‘True Detective’ season 2: Vince Vaughn talks story, excitement on ‘Ellen’

HBO logoThe second season of “True Detective” is going to be coming your way starting on Sunday, June 21, but why wait to get more scoop on the show until then? After all, we have so much more to share now!

Vince Vaughn was a guest recently on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and of the things that he did almost right away (see the video HERE) is joke extensively about the part that he is going to play and the strong air of secrecy around the series as a whole. He claims that he is actually playing the “Frozen” character of Elsa, and he cannot keep it secret any longer!

In all seriously, Vaughn does go on to describe some of what the story for the new season is, and also had no problem throwing some praise on the incredible man behind the series, as well:

“It’s a crime story that takes place in Los Angeles and it’s a whole new story. The writer and creator of [the show] is just tremendous, Nick Pizzolatto, and he’s the writer of this one as well, and it’s been a lot of fun. The characters are very interesting, very complicated.”

In general, Vaughn seems to be very much excited about the change to really dive in and so something a little more dramatic again after having spent so much of his career as of late working on comedies. This show is a huge opportunity for him to remind some of how great he can be in the right role, and maybe even get some more drama work down the line.
