‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 2 spoilers: New characters and Annalise’s future

The second season of “How to Get Away with Murder” may not be premiering on ABC until most likely the end of September, but why wait that long to get a little bit of scoop? As a way to further sell the show as a Primetime Emmy Awards contender, the cast and executive producer / creator Pete Nowalk sat down for a Television Academy panel this week.

One thing that you should know right now? More people are coming into the series and into the orbit of Viola Davis’ complicated Annalise Keating. At least one major character will come into play during season 2 with major ties to her.

Meanwhile, something else to remember is that Keating is not going to be getting away from this particular crop of students anytime soon, even if there are constantly new people entering the fold. This is something that Nowalk himself touched on per The Hollywood Reporter:

“Annalise has had a lot of students before work for her. None of them killed her husband … So these people are bonded in ways that past students have not been.”

Hopefully, Nowalk and company are going to have a really strong season ahead of them, but there is one familiar mantra that just about everyone stuck with during this panel: Not giving anything major away. Why would they? Clearly, they know already that they have a product that people very much enjoy, and all shows under the Shondaland banner tend to be incredible secretive as to what lies ahead.
