‘Outlander’ season 1 finale spoilers: See Caitriona Balfe’s Claire in new photos

As the “Outlander” finale Saturday gradually approaches, we’re thrilled to finally have at least a little more material to present. While Starz has shied away from sharing a customary sneak peek, we do at least have a pair of images now from “To Ransom a Man’s Soul,” which is a particularly powerful title when you consider here the stakes that are present for Sam Heughan’s character of Jamie. Is there a way that he can be saved from the abyss? It will be up to his wife Claire to figure it out.

The new images we have featuring Caitriona Balfe front and center as she tries to formulate her plan to ensure that Jamie can be properly rescued / brought back to the man he once was … even though she may realize that this is a nearly-impossible feat. In order to get through to him, it could take her descending herself to an extremely dark and harrowing place.

If nothing else, at least these images do not at least feature some of the more terrible aspects of what is going on in the world, and they almost serve as a sort of transient hope that things could end up okay. Then again, remember that Starz would never release some of the more appalling aspects of this episode in advance. They will probably wait on some of that until you actually see it.
