“Longmire” season 4 will be premiering on Netflix this fall, but what we are getting at the moment is for the most part a really good reminder of how the streaming service does business. Namely, they try not to announce any casting details until they absolutely have to.
As confirmed by TVLine, former “Profiler” star Ally Walker is one of the notable additions to the Craig Johnson adaptation (which was picked up after A&E’s cancellation). However, there are zero details available at the moment in regards to just who she will be playing. We’re not even going to speculate here, mostly because we tend to believe that such things are kept secret for a reason.
What we will give you is the logline for what lies ahead this coming season:
“[The new season] picks up moments after Season 3’s exciting finale. Walt Longmire (played by Robert Taylor), having found out who was behind the murder of his wife, succumbs to his darker impulses and takes off in pursuit of the killer with murder on his mind. Meanwhile, Branch Connally (Bailey Chase)… believes he has already figured out who the real culprit is. But during his confrontation with this suspected killer, a gun goes off. Now the audience will finally learn what happened, and whether Walt can be stopped before he makes a fatal choice.”
The fate of Branch has been the biggest cliffhanger of all going into the new season, and Chase himself has done a really great job of being quiet and/or coy about his return on social media … if he returns at all.
We are just as excited about the return of “Longmire” this fall as you most likely are, and you can expect reviews for every episode as soon as it comes out!
