‘Big Brother Canada 3’ exclusive: Jordan Parhar on memorable exit, being evicted from jury

Jordan -We rooted for Jordan Parhar on “Big Brother Canada” for a variety of reasons. For one, we always like seeing the longtime fans on the show, and in this case it also helped that he is a longtime Rob Has a Podcast listener just as we are. Jordan was a guy who did so much right, but unfortunately is going to be almost the poster child now for how much a simple week in the game can change things. You thought that he was in it for the long haul, only to have his own ally in Zach keep him on the block.

Still, you gotta love Jordan’s perspective on everything and his candor in his final exit interview with us on Thursday. He appreciates everything, even if his eviction was probably a tough one to swallow.

CarterMatt – So what has it been like finally getting out of the house now?

Jordan Parhar – It’s been crazy! I haven’t got my phone yet; they’re not giving them to us until after press, so I’ve only gotten bits and pieces of information. It’s so overwhelming; you’re away from society for over 70 days, you’re seeing other people again and you’re getting information and finding out that Hillary Clinton is running for President in 2016. (Laughs.) All of this information, and I haven’t even gotten to social media yet! It’s going to be crazy watching the show.

It’s been a lot, but it’s been fun.

Are you excited to watch the show, or are you nervous? It’s one of those weird things to have to watch yourself.

Honestly Matt, of course I’m excited to watch the show. As a fan, I want to go back and see how it was on TV. I am really dreading watching the week I go home, it was such a terrible week. Everything was going so well and it all came crashing down. I think it’s going to be fun. I’m sure I’m going to get a ton of hate on social media, and I think it’s well-deserved. I made a very stupid move, but you know what? At the end of the day I’m just glad to be a part of this experience, and I’m really excited to meet some former houseguests!

Hey, look at this way. Few people ever win the game. At least your exit is one that will be remembered.

Thank you very much, you’re right. ‘Big Brother’ is a game where people don’t get blindsided very often; it’s not like ‘Survivor.’ You can probably name with one hand people like Dustin in ‘Big Brother 8’ or Marcellas in ‘Big Brother 3.’ There’s very few examples of someone getting blindsided in that kind of fashion, so I’m honored to be a part of that. (Laughs.) From what I’ve been hearing, it was one of the biggest moments of the season. For Godfrey and his storyline it was a big turning point. It’s better to go out in memorable fashion than one nobody is going to remember.

Let’s talk a little game. You had started off with Newport, and that was going really well for a while; but, you also had Fortress, and you switched over to that before leaving. Had you stayed, where would your loyalties have lied?

I think moving forward, I would have been with Zach and told him that I would 100% stay with him, but I was willing to flip as soon as I had an opportunity. I just didn’t have a chance. I feel like he was my clutch in the game early on as we worked so well together and I didn’t want to screw him that early, but if something had arose I wouldn’t be opposed to taking a shot. Kevin and I had talked about going to Bobby and Bruno, maybe to get something going to advance our own game. I was willing to do anything; I just felt like Kevin and I had to move forward in the game together, and I would’ve just liked to have the opportunity. I didn’t unfortunately have that opportunity. Timing is everything in life, and timing is also everything in the ‘Big Brother’ house.

Was there any real way to predict that Sindy not only would come back to the game, but would be working to get you out?

The whole thing really just screwed me so bad. She was in sequester house getting information about the Chop Shop, which I didn’t know about, and then she goes to Sarah and tells her about the Chop Shop, and that makes me look disloyal to Sarah. She would have had no idea about that. Sarah wants to turn on me, Sindy wants to turn on me because of Naeha selling me and Zach down the river, and the kicker was Sindy being allowed to vote even though she wasn’t allowed to play in the Power of Veto.

Every single thing that could have went wrong for me went wrong for me, and that happens sometimes. That’s the risk I ran with volunteering to go on the block.

You spent so much time on the jury, but then your vote didn’t count! Your reaction last night sums it up. How bummed were you about that?

Of course I was a little bummed for sure. You were in the house for 35 days and it meant nothing. But I got to have a lot of fun in the jury house and got to experience it with those guys. I got to experience all things. I got to be on the jury, I got to be the first houseguests (does Russell Hantz impression) of all time (back to normal voice) to be voted out of the jury. I was pretty stoked about that. It’s another thing to add to my resume. It’s all part of the game, and it made the most sense. I finished in the lowest place out of everyone on the jury, so I think they made the right decision.

I’m going to throw something at you here. I don’t know what you’ve heard, but the next season of ‘Survivor’ is a second-chance season featuring people who were voted on by the public.

Yeah, I have heard about this.

Let’s say that there is a ‘Big Brother Canada: Second Chance’ season where you get to come back, because I do think you’d be worthy of a second chance after what happened. What would you do differently?

First off, I don’t think they would ask me back, but I would try to lay back a little bit. I would try to not make so many alliances. That is not something that I wanted to do at all; some of them kind of fell upon me, and that led to my downfall in the game. I had too many relationships with too many different people. People started comparing notes. I would start from there, and then read situations better. I read that whole situation wrong and it blew up in my face.

The fact that I’m 21 and so young, I think that’s kind of did me in. If I was a little older and had some more life experience, I think I would have been able to catch on to those cues [better] and that Sindy really was playing me.
