‘Doctor Who’ season 9: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, Michelle Gomez set as Comic-Con

Doctor Who -Great news for all who have wanted to actually see “Doctor Who” actually make it to San Diego Comic-Con this year: It’s happening! After the show took a year off in 2014 to accommodate the worldwide tour Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman went on to promote season 8, they will be heading to California and the cavernous Hall H come July. Specifically the date of their panel (which includes the Mater in Michelle Gomez, plus executive producers Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin) will be July 9, which is the first full day of the convention after Preview Night.

In a statement, Capaldi himself had the following to say about getting to be a part of this great convention for the first time since joining the show:

“Tales of San Diego Comic-Con are told in awe on every set around the known fantasy/sci-fi production world … It’s become a fabled kingdom, one I am thrilled to find myself heading for. And to appear in the legendary Hall H is a further twist to the cosplay and comic madness I may never recover from.”

Capaldi has been a wonderful ambassador for the show, but it is not a surprise that he would be. The actor was a longtime fan of the series even before getting to take the role as the Doctor, and he has been enthusiastic ever since taking on the part. Gomez to us is the surprise addition, mostly because she was only in a select number of episodes at the end of season 8. However, it has already been confirmed that she will return for season 9.
