‘Big Brother Canada 3’ review: The special eviction … and a jury twist

Big Brother -We’ve been waiting in some ways for the inevitable on the new episode of “Big Brother Canada” Monday night … and that is Ashleigh deciding to evict either Godfrey or Brittnee after she took home the victory in the Power of Veto Competition. She claimed that it was the “hardest decision” that she has made in the house to date, but we’re guessing that this is due more to emotional weight than it is ambiguity.

This may be one of the tearier exits that we’ve seen in some time, but it was beyond the shadow of a doubt the right move for Ashleigh to make. How in the world does she justify keeping someone who is strictly not going to be a valuable person down the line. There is 0% chance that Brittnee takes anyone other than Sarah until the end. At least in keeping Godfrey there is a chance that he could take her, even if she may have some guaranteed votes from the Diaper Alliance.

Brittnee has done some things really well in this game. She’s made big moves as Head of Household, and she also played well to Canada and did her best to be a likable underdog. However, her cardinal mistake may be not studying events in the house, to the point that she quit a Veto Competition that she easily could have won had she prepared for it more.

After Arisa Cox spoke with Brittnee for what was a pretty non-revealing interview, and then we heard another surprise: The remaining houseguests had to choose to evict someone from the jury, and they had to all decide on it unanimously. This had to be tough. For example, Ashleigh would probably want to evict Brittnee given that she is a guaranteed vote for Sarah, while Sarah may want Zach out of there. To us, the fairest solution is to evict Sindy, given that she really was only there because of a twist. Also, she is a wild card as a juror in the first place.

However, Sarah didn’t want to get rid of her, and this all led mostly to seeing Godfrey fight with the other two because he didn’t have anyone in the jury who would seemingly vote for him. We love Godfrey, but we’re not sure that we loved his performance here. You don’t want to tick off someone in Ashleigh so much that she may not want to take you to the end of the game. This was the most exciting moment in weeks, and we are left with a cliffhanger. Grade: B+.
