‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Maisie Williams preaches patience on Arya story
Obviously this has been a very different season for Arya, given that she is no longer on the road, and also no longer has to wear the same outfit / disguise she has for many years. It is also one that cannot be summarized easily. As Maisie Williams told Entertainment Weekly recently in a far-ranging interview, this is really the first time that she feels that her story cannot be looked at as a series of individual pieces:
“I think it’s the first time that Arya’s story is really only complete when you look at all 10 episodes. Obviously people only watch it a week at a time, and I think at first people are going to be like, ‘Where is this heading?’—until we get to the later episodes. Then they’re going to be like, ‘That makes sense now. I get it.'”
For the record, we cannot say that we have any sort of enormous, far-reaching concerns when it comes to the nature of the Arya storyline at the moment. This is still one of the best characters that the HBO series has, and we imagine that the action will build for her eventually. It just may require a little bit of patience.
