ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: Could Huck really turn on Olivia?

Huck clearly does owe quite a bit of his success, and in some ways his survival, on “Scandal” to Olivia Pope. This is a woman who really rescued him from one of the most horrendous situations that a human being could possibly be in, and she really turned him around in many ways and gave him a purpose. Therefore, you want to think that he is a changed man, but then you remember what he did to the jurors in the finale, and the connection that was there between him and Rowan. What somehow makes Rowan so shrewd is that despite however much the deck seems to be stacked against him, he still finds a way to get what he wants … at least the vast majority of the time, anyway.

Given that Papa Pope is still alive (and just sitting within a prison cell), is it possible that he teams up with Huck and the two form an axis of evil on the show? Depending on what happens with Kerry Washington’s character as a result of Huck’s killings, it’s possible. This is at least the message that is handed down by the man behind the brilliant role in Guillermo Diaz, who passes along the following message to TV Guide:

“That is definitely an interesting possibility. If [Olivia] finds out and he feels like there’s nothing left for him there, I can see him turning to Rowan and embracing that dark side to him.”

Whether or not Huck lives or dies, given that Quinn has him at gunpoint at the moment, is probably the first order of business on the show. Granted, we do imagine that he is still going to be okay, but that is something that at least changes the game a little and adds some stakes to the painful few months of waiting that we have ahead for us.
