Episode of the Week: ‘Agents of SHIELD,’ ‘Bates Motel,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ and more
Before we get too much into the nominees for Episode of the Week from May 10-16, let’s start here with recognizing the results of the week before. “NCIS” season 12 won in a landslide with its penultimate episode entitled “The Lost Boys,” which drew an impressive 50% of the vote. We’re about to enter the end of the regular TV season, and it is with that in mind that the majority of the nominees below are finales. They close the door on one chapter, and set the stage for what is coming up ahead. Of course, there is one exception to that, as well.
While we do pick the nominees for this award every single week, at the end of the day this is mostly still about you as the reader! Share below which one of the nominees you think is truly best, and we will recognize it in the article next week.
“Agents of SHIELD” season 2 episode 22, “S.O.S.” – This was insane. The Marvel series cranked so much content into the second part of its two-hour finale that we’re not entirely sure just how they managed to do that. It was thoroughly entertaining from start to finish, and set the stage perfectly for what could happen next.
“Bates Motel” season 3, episode 10, “Unconscious” – We do feel like that this is the weakest season overall of “Bates Motel,” but in between the Emma – Dylan kiss and Norman’s latest actions, at least this episode gave us one of the meatier stories.
“Grey’s Anatomy” season 11, episode 24, “You’re My Home” – A solid way to conclude what has been a very difficult season. Given that we just lost Derek earlier this season, this finale felt like a nice way to tie up his story and set the stage for what is to come.
“Mad Men” season 7, episode 13, “The Milk and Honey Route” – Heartbreaking, but the quality that you would expect from “Mad Men” going into the series finale.
“Survivor: Worlds Apart” episode 13, “My Word Is My Bond” – In the middle of all of the crazy “Survivor: Second Chance” voting, this was an episode so entertaining and with such a big finish that it served as a temporary distraction. We really did not think we would get that.
