‘Outlander’ season 1, episode 16 (finale) spoilers: Sam Heughan’s Jamie front and center
Tonight’s episode of “Outlander” was horrific no doubt to many viewers, especially when it comes to watching and seeing some of what Jamie Fraser endured while at Wentworth Prison. There may not be a more hated villain on TV right now than Black Jack Randall, who seems to really have figured out how to do something that is actually worse than killing someone.
Next week, the finale will be here in “To Ransom a Man’s Soul,” which is a title very much familiar to anyone who has read the book series. In terms of plot, this is very much a case of good news and bad news. The good news for now is merely that Jamie will be a free man once again; however, that does not mean that he will be entirely whole. He will continue to suffer trauma due to what happened to him, and as the synopsis indicates via TV Guide, there is no guarantee that he will be able to shake much of it off:
“Jamie is freed following a daring rescue, but his mind lingers on the torture he endured.”
Whatever happens within this episode is hopefully going to be enough to tide you over for some time. With season 2 in production, it may be some time before it comes on the air. There was an incredibly long wait between halves of season 1, so who is to think that there will suddenly only be a few months between season 1 and season 2?
What do you think will transpire over the course of the “Outlander” season finale? Now is the time to let us know in the comments!

just saw it (accidentally found out it’s already available in Israel). very exciting to see these last book episodes come to life. but, was dissapointed about so much time put into army flag, galic scene and unnecessary jokes. also, in line with a recent blog about the misrepresentation of Jamie on the show, was annoyed about the suicide plot part, the brand removal scene and child like sour puss on the dingy
yes I’m a book fan. yes it could never be the same. but why were all the torture and rape scenes so elaborate and detailed and all the rest, especially the stepping into darkness scene, so fly by (even the surgery scene went by so fast there was abit of a video voice-over unsynced).
how is soomeone who hasn’t read the book supposed to get how much and why claire loves jamie so much and Jamie’s long healing process
wonder what if it was all women writers….
