‘The Bachelorette’ spotlight: Meet JJ Lane, and at least he’s honest

We have no idea whether or not JJ Lane is going to be a major player on “The Bachelorette” this season, but there is a part of us that likes him just because of what he wrote on his Instagram: “Apologies in advance for bringing shame and embarrassment to my friends and family.” He has a good sense of humor about himself, and who knows? Maybe that makes him great for Kaitlyn Bristowe in the event that she is picked.

There is also more to JJ behind just the humor, though, since he is a father and one of the more interesting characters we’ve discussed leading up to Monday’s premiere.

Name – JJ Lane

Age – 32

Location – Denver, Colorado.

Occupation – Former investment banker. Is this code for “I don’t have a job right now”? At least he’s honest, and that’s the second time we’ve thought that in this article.

First impression – He loves his daughter, and having that emotional connection is always something that Bachelorettes appreciate. Of course, with that come questions as to why it didn’t work with the child’s mother, and then questions as to whether or not they are ready to be a mom. It really goes both ways, but at least we think he is going to present having a daughter in a personable way.

Worst impression – The good news? The guy won $20,000 betting on college football. The bad news? The guy was betting big money on college football. Who knows what he would shell out for a boxing match.

Prediction – We don’t see either Kaitlyn or Britt Nilsson picking a dad, just because we don’t think either one of them is in that place. Maybe JJ lasts for five weeks or so, but that’ll be it.
