‘The Bachelorette’ spotlight: Meet Ian Thomson, a.k.a. the recruiter
We like contestants on “The Bachelorette” who open themselves up to us over time and become interesting characters, but there is also something to be said for someone who comes out right away and reveals themselves as an interesting character. That is why we are already looking at Ian Thomson as one of our favorite pre-game contestants. He is extremely intelligent, very focused, and not the sort of guy you tend to see on the show.
What we wonder is this: Can this guy open up, and check the Princeton education and the business side of his personality at the door? Can he let his guard down, and admit that he is in love? Sometimes, there is a reason why people who are so driven are single, and that may be what is happening here.
Name – Ian Thomson
Age – 28
Location – Los Angeles, California
Occupation – Executive recruiter. We’re not entirely sure what that means, but we imagine that a good part of it is going to revolve around interpersonal skills, talking to candidates, and figuring out their skill set. This could be a good skill for the show, since he may be able to figure out what tactics to use to woo either Kaitlyn Bristowe or Britt Nilsson.
First Impression – He is a romantic, and has a passionate for “building things” and using his talents to express himself. For someone who has a good amount of success while still being younger than thirty, he is also surprisingly humble and vulnerable.
Worst Impression – He also lists Jimmy Kimmel as someone he wants to have lunch with. Aren’t we trying a little too hard to impress ABC here, Ian? We think so.
Prediction – We still like Ian, and hope that he can make it a long time in the competition. We’re not sure that he can win because he may have some trouble being relatable, but he is the sort of person we could see lasting until hometowns.
