‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers: Caity Lotz is playing….

The truth is finally out there in regards to Caity Lotz and her role on the “Arrow” / “The Flash” spin-off “Legends of Tomorrow” … at least sort of. The first photo from the show, which is slated to premiere at midseason, was shown during The CW’s upfront presentation. In addition to that, network head Mark Pedowitz made it very clear that Caity Lotz’s long-mysterious character is going to be White Canary.

Does this mean that it is also Sara Lance? Lotz did not necessarily confirm that speaking to Entertainment Weekly before the upfronts that she is the same character she was through multiple seasons of “Arrow,” it does feel like that is where we are going here:

“There’s going to be some differences … There’s going to be some repercussions [from] whatever happened and it’s definitely going to make a difference in how she is. I’m really looking forward to it. The stuff they were telling me about it and where they’re going to go with the character is exciting.”

While White Canary does already exist in the comic universe, she is not particularly well-known or explored. Therefore, some of the excitement here could come in getting a chance to create virtually a new character that still feels tapped in from the source material.

White Canary, one way or another, will join Traveler (likely how Sara, if it is Sara, is brought into the present given his time-travel abilities), Hawkgirl, Martin Stein, The Atom, Captain Cold, and Heat Wave as a part of the show. We’re still trying to figure out where in the world Robbie Amell a.k.a. Ronnie Raymond is, given that it is hard to envision Martin Stein on the show and not him, unless of course Firestorm is not a part of this universe.
