‘Blue Bloods’ season 6, ‘NCIS’ season 13, ‘Amazing Race’ renewals official; see more!

Blue Bloods season 5CBS waiting a heck of a lot longer than usual when it comes to confirming the majority of their shows on the schedule, but when they did on Monday, they really unrolled the welcome wagon to a variety of different programs! How else do you describe what we ultimately consider to be a surprising mass renewal?

Let’s just go ahead here and start by going through all the shows coming back: “NCIS,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Person of Interest,” “The Good Wife, ” “The Amazing Race,” “Blue Bloods,” “Undercover Boss,” “Survivor” (go figure, given the casting twist) “Hawaii Five-0,” “Elementary,” “Criminal Minds,” “CSI: Cyber,” “The Odd Couple,” and “60 Minutes.” Basically, they renewed almost everything on the bubble!

Going into this week, we were the most concerned about the fate of the Friday shows (we were sure one of them was going to get the ax) and “Person of Interest,” given that it was the lowest-rated show on Tuesday and filming in New York is not cheap.

The only show that is still with an uncertain fate is the flagship “CSI,” which we’ve heard a variety of different possible outcomes for. It is possible that it gets a six-part season to close things out, just as it is also possible that the network will order some sort of TV movie to wrap things up. We do feel like the network would like to offer fans some closure and avoid what happened to “CSI: Miami,” but there are no guarantees of anything at the moment!
