‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 21 review: Alaric and Jo’s red wedding
Was George R.R. Martin the writer of Thursday night’s episode of “The Vampire Diaries“? We are starting to wonder that, given what we did see at the end of Thursday night’s new episode that left Elena Gilbert in very bad shape. Right when she was turned into a human, you now have to wonder whether or not she will be written out by the character being killed.
What makes this particular moment all the more terrible is that it is coming right after Damon decided that he was going to take the cure alongside Elena. He was not taking it just for her, though; instead, he wanted the two of them to have a chance at a happy life together, where they could spend time with one another until the very end.
So who do you blame for all of this nonsense going down? Ultimately, it is the same person you really should blame for most shenanigans and terrible things at this point in the show: Kai. Time and time again, this guy proves himself to be all sorts of horrible and beyond reproach, and there is really no indication that he is going to suddenly change things up in the near future. Why in the world would we expect anything different from him?
The only part of this episode we really don’t like at the moment is simply that the show continues to just mess around with Stefan and Caroline, when it really should be just getting them together at this point and moving on. What’s the point in really forcing us to wait anymore? Ultimately, it doesn’t seem like there really is a point at all.
