‘Arrow’ / ‘The Flash’ spin-off officially titled ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’

After many weeks of speculation on possible titles for the “Arrow” / “The Flash” spin-off series, the title was finally confirmed on Thursday to be none other than “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” That is hardly the greatest title in the world, right? We’re just going to be honest here when we say that the odds of us referring to this show by that complete name are slim to none. Instead, we are most likely just to call the show “Legends of Tomorrow” and be done with it. That is simple, and an easy enough way at the same time to say just what the show is about.

In addition to giving the title for the series today (alongside ordering the new dramas “Cordon” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), The CW also shared today the short synopsis, which does at least give us a sense of how this story is going to come about:

“When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?”

The cast here includes Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), and whoever Caity Lotz is going to be playing. The fact that Rip Hunter is a time-traveler does theoretically make it possible that Lotz will be playing Sara Lance, but we’ll have to wait for further confirmation on that.

For the time being, let us know below what you think of the name!
