‘Supergirl’ spoilers: CBS officially orders Melissa Benoist series

Great news for all “Supergirl” fans out there: The show is officially set to start flying high over at CBS. Today, the network confirmed that they have ordered the Melissa Benoist comic-book adaptation to series, which is something that has been projected as likely for quite a lengthy span of time. The show, which comes from Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler, has been one of the most-hyped of pilot season.

If there has been any question at all about its future on TV, it was strictly a matter of whether or not it would work for this particular network. You have to remember here that CBS is famous mostly for their crime procedurals, and for putting other things on the air that revolve mostly around solving a different sort of case every week. Superheroes are not really their thing. There was a feeling for a long time that this show could eventually be shipped to The CW, where it could join the DC Comics universe there that includes “Arrow” and “The Flash.” We would have been okay with that, mostly because there is no real definitive feeling one way or another about what universe this show is going to be a part of when it eventually airs on the network.

This is the first confirmed drama-series pickup for the network, and it is most likely coming early because of the sole fact that it needs extra time due to all of the effects and everything else that will need to be included here. It also joins a superhero lineup for the new season that will include a team-up spin-off for the aforementioned CW shows.

Now, where do you schedule it? Our feeling still is to place it Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern after football. It’s a great spot for family entertainment!

What do you think about the pickup? Share now.
