‘Dancing with the Stars’ 10th anniversary: Kelly Monaco, Val Chmerkovskiy perform steamy routine

Dancing with the Stars -Have we now seen the skimpiest routine in the history of “Dancing with the Stars“? If you are basing this solely on clothing (which is typically what the word skimpy means, natch), then it probably has to be.

In the video over at the link here, you can see a routine from the 10th anniversary special that featured season 1 champion Kelly Monaco (who happened to also do very well in the All-Star season of the show) performing a routine with her most-recent partner Val Chmerkovskiy. It started steamy enough, but then only got steamier when the dance closed with the soap star in a bikini and Val in a Speedo. While there are many reasons people watch the show, it would be silly to deny that the art-form nature of many of their routines probably helps to mask the fact that this show gets away with showing more skin than almost any other on network TV save for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

There were a variety of trips down memory lane taken over the course of the night as a whole, whether it be some of the most inspirational dancers to perform or some of the overall best. We still remember first hearing about this show a solid decade ago and thinking “who in the world is going to want to watch that,” mostly because the idea of low-grade celebrities doing ballroom was so foreign and strange.

Now, we totally get it. The show struck gold with Tom Bergeron (an adept host who is brilliant on live TV), a great judging panel with three distinct personalities, and also some pros who managed to become stars in their own right.
