‘Scream Queens’ spoilers: Emma Roberts takes center stage for another promo

What is somewhat interesting about “Scream Queens” is that even though the likes of Abigail Breslin, Lea Michele, and Jamie Lee Curtis are all involved in “Scream Queens” along with appearances from Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas, somehow the majority of the promotion so far has revolved around Emma Roberts. Sure, Keke Palmer also has a promo out there, but why just Emma? Our guess is that her character is delightfully evil enough to show perfectly in these promos, and there may be other people that Fox wants to keep a secret for a little while longer.

Another recurring theme for the time being here is bubblegum. In this promo, you can see Roberts’ character of Chanel blow a bubble while looking at herself in the mirror. When it bursts, blood splatters everywhere, and she ends up wiping it off and grinning at her own reflection. Creepy and narcissistic at the same time, which is definitely an unusual combination.

The thing to remember here is that these promos are probably not meant to be all that scary. This show is meant to be more of a comedy / horror hybrid, so think along the line of some of those old-school gross-out flicks that are complete camp. It probably won’t be that gross (this is network TV), but hopefully still something that differs very much from what is elsewhere on TV.

There is no firm release date yet for “Scream Queens,” but it is still very fair to say that you’ll set it on the network at some point in the fall.
