‘Under the Dome’ season 3 spoilers: ‘ER’ alum cast in notable role

“Under the Dome” has been a show to consistently bring in new characters. However, the twist here the majority of the time is that these new characters are played by actors who are relatively unfamiliar with the show before joining. That is not exactly the case here.

As first reported by Deadline, Eriq La Salle of “ER” fame has signed on to play a very important role on the CBS summer series, being a “ruthless” CEO of an energy company operated by Barbie’s father named Hektor Martin. There is not too much else known about this character at the moment, but it is typically easy to say that this show can always use a few more quality villains. Occasionally, it can also use a little more sense here and there after a very uneven / bizarre season 2.

So what is La Salle’s connection to the series? He is acting after having directed a season 2 episode of the show, and he is still going to be directing another episode moving forward. This is an arrangement we don’t see often on TV anymore, with one of the other notable cases of this being Peter Weller over on “Sons of Anarchy.”

The third season is going to be premiering on Thursday, June 25, and that is a brand-new night for the show. Therefore, we imagine there also being some new challenges. This was originally a smash hit during its first season, but it faced some downward progress throughout its second season last summer.

For now, what do you think about this casting, and is there anything in particular you are hoping to see on the show next season? Share below.
