‘Elementary’ season 3: When could Natalie Dormer come back?

Where is the story going to go moving forward on “Elementary” season 3? For the sake of this article, we’re actually going to be looking ahead to next season for a minute … even if that has not been officially ordered yet. We do feel like this is most-likely going to happen, and to go along with that, we also feel for the most part like it looks as though season 4 is when you will see one of the show’s most-popular (if often absent) characters in Moriarty a.k.a. Irene Adler.

Obviously, the reason why Moriarty is such a hard person to get into the show is simply a matter of scheduling. Natalie Dormer is a very busy woman! She is Margaery over on “Game of Thrones,” she has done work on “The Hunger Games” franchise, and she has other feature-film projects. It is not exactly easy for her to be able to drop everything and then suddenly be able to do some work for the show.

However, executive producer Rob Doherty did hint recently to Entertainment Weekly that so long as there is a fourth season, you are most likely going to have a chance to see this character in action. He did still say that there are some surprises still to come this season, and that includes his sponsor Alfredo going missing. This is obviously a danger because this is a man whose life could hang in the balance, but also at the same time Sherlock’s own sobriety could be in jeopardy.

New episodes of “Elementary” air on CBS Thursday nights, and we’ll get plenty of opportunities to see how the road evolves to the big finale.
