‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ finale date set

The Daily Show with Jon StewartCurious to know when Jon Stewart is actually going to be leaving “The Daily Show“? We now have an official answer. Jon will be signing off for good on Thursday, August 6, which is admittedly a little bit earlier than when we first thought he was going to be saying goodbye.

On the Comedy Central show Monday night, Stewart confirmed his farewell date, which does at least mean that he has over three months to go. That is enough time for him to get the proper farewell that he deserves, which probably includes a variety of different people coming in to give him some well-wishes. Hopefully, this includes getting to see the return of such folks as Ed Helms, Steve Carell, and maybe even Stephen Colbert. While we know that Colbert has seemingly left his old character in the past, it would be nice to see him return in some way to the show that originally started it all for him in terms of turning him into a household name.

The network has not announced just yet when the new version of the show hosted by Trevor Noah will premiere. Our guess is that they would want to give him as much time as possible before election season arrives, so we would say that September or October would be a smart move. Otherwise, you’d have to make some other switcheroo like potentially move up “The Nightly Show” and “@midnight” for a little while to fill the spot.
