‘Game of Thrones’ season 5, episode 2 reaction: Bosses on Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke stories
It is a shame that HBO does not put out extensive “Inside the Episode” videos for each “Game of Thrones” episode that touch on every single event that transpires over the course of the hour. Then again, we also do understand it. It would take David Benioff and D.B. Weiss almost as long to talk about each episode as it took for us to watch the whole episode ourselves.
In this new video below, though, the showrunners do talk about three stories that are essential to “The House of Black and White,” the second episode of the season that made us realize just how difficult it is to rule. All three of these stories revolve around that idea in one way or another.
Daenerys – When it comes to Emilia Clarke’s character, she is starting to understand that doing the right thing by the law makes no friends. Watching her execute the former slave was a huge move for her, but we do have to start wondering this: When are we going to stop getting life lessons, and start to get some actual action when it comes to this character? The sooner that it takes place, the happier we are going to be in the end, because watching her run around and grow her army is getting tired season after season.
Cersei – Can Cersei continue to operate beyond just being the mother of King Tommen? She is going to try, but there is one man in particular who is completely resistant to every little thing that she tries, much to her dismay.
Dorne – Finally, we learn a thing or two about Prince Doran Martell. While he may want revenge over what happened to Oberyn, he is not necessarily going to act on it right away.
