‘Scorpion’ season 2: Premiere date speculation, more for Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, cast

Scorpion -Scorpion” fans should understandably be lamenting at the moment that the fact that tonight marks their big season 1 finale for the show. Thanks in part to CBS airing a large array of installments in the fall, we are wrapping things up a little bit earlier than the majority of the other programs out there with 22-episode orders. It’s understandable to be disappointed, but you can also be hopeful for the future because it’s looking bright.

The biggest thing to smile about is that “Scorpion” has already been confirmed that the series is coming back! CBS confirmed the renewal earlier this year, and while we don’t know if they would do this, we’d be fine with a 24-episode pickup here. This does not always work for many shows, but you’ve got a big enough cast here to handle the workload, and it is also procedural enough so that the writers don’t have to overlap each other with too many stories. Plus, you have another show alongside it in “NCIS: Los Angeles” that routinely runs for 24 episodes.

As for the premiere date, we’re going to go ahead and throw one out there for you: Monday, September 21. That is when we suspect the series will return, given that the fall schedule typically begins a numbers of weeks after Labor Day, and we see no reason for the network to move this to another night since it does quite fine where it is. Another possibility is that the show could premiere September 28.

Despite the cliffhanger related to Walter last week, we have a feeling that Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, and the rest of the cast will all return for season 2, the question is: in what capacity. Will they all be working together again?
