‘Arrested Development’ season 5: Tony Hale definitely open to return

Who doesn’t want there to be another season of “Arrested Development”? At this particular moment in time, the general consensus is that there is demand, and luckily everyone involved seems just as interested in making more as the audience is to watch it. The issue here will almost always be logistics, given that everyone has many different jobs, and getting them all to line up at around the same time is not an easy thing.

Recently, executive producer Brian Grazer claimed that the comedy would eventually be doing another 17 episodes on Netflix, and for the first time since then, one of the cast members has spoken out about it. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tony Hale commented with the following (which perfectly explains the amount of enthusiasm he has to play the Buster character):

“Honestly, I don’t really know what is specifically going on, but what I do know is whether it’s seven episodes or 17 episodes, everybody is on board. My hope is that it will happen again. I want to find out what happens with Buster because there’s a cliffhanger at the end of the [season four] and mainly because everything that has come out of [creator] Mitch Hurwitz’s mind has always surprised me. I remember throwing out ideas on set when we were shooting and saying [something like] ‘What if Buster’s on Dancing With the Stars?’ and he’s like, ‘That’s funny, but I’m thinking of having a seal bite off your hand.’”

While this cast may be rather busy, one of their silver linings at the moment may just be that they all do at least have some potential time opening up. Portia de Rossi is only recurring on “Scandal,” Will Arnett is already in business with Netflix on another project, and we haven’t heard of too many major Michael Cera projects. The hardest actor to grab right now may be Jeffrey Tambor, who has “Transparent” going strong over on Amazon.
