ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4, episode 20 preview: Madeleine Stowe’s Victoria attacked … but by who?

“Revenge” may only have four episodes left before going off the air for good, but we already getting plenty more evidence of one very basic thing: This is not a show preparing to end with a whimper. They want to shock people, so what better to do that than a sneak peek focusing on Victoria Grayson getting beaten to the ground inside of a parking garage?

In this sneak peek below, you can see the moment happen with Madeleine Stowe’s character as she is pushed to the ground by an unknown assailant. The only two things we can figure out here are that the assailant is seemingly a woman based on her frame, and that Victoria claims that it was Emily Thorne. Big shocker there. We don’t actually think that this is the case for one very simple reason: She is not anywhere near as insane as someone who would think about actually doing something like this and allowing Victoria to live. What would the point be?

All of this to us eventually comes back to the key question about who was busting out the red sharpie in the recent promo that we saw. The rumor on the street right now is that this is someone returning to the ABC series after sometime away, and there are many notable candidates there would could try to cause all sorts of chaos. One interesting possibility here is Emily’s own mother. Where is she in all of this? It’s been seasons since we’ve seen her aboard the show. Given the body type, it is pretty easy for now to rule out Conrad, at least as this assailant.

Given some recent teases about the upcoming finale, though, maybe it is wise to not rule out Emily completely, either.
