‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 finale spoilers: Life-changing choices coming for Phil Coulson

When “Agents of SHIELD” chooses to end its run on Tuesday, May 12, it is going to choose to do so with two episodes that could end up feeling like a Marvel movie in their own right. “S.O.S.” marks the title for both installments that are airing, and when you remember that these episodes are most likely taking place after the events of “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” (at least based on what the show did after “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), you have to think that almost anything could happen here.

It is probably with that in mind that the network is opting to be so vague in their official synopsis. Take a look at that below:

“S.H.I.E.L.D. puts everything on the line to survive a war that blurs the line between friend and foe. Coulson and his team will be forced to make shocking sacrifices that will leave their relationships and their world changed forever.”

One other thing to consider here is that Marvel is working in secret with ABC on some sort of spin-off featuring some of the characters from this show, and the events of this story could become a little clearer once we learn more about what the spin-off is about. Right now our top contender is a tale following Bobbi, Mack, and Gonzales, but at the same time we also would not rule out something more focused on the Inhumans … even if we do know already that there is a movie planned about them, as well.

Given that this episode is still many weeks away from airing, we imagine that we will hear so much more before it airs. Stay tuned!
