Sarah Jessica Parker officially returning to HBO; ‘Divorce’ comedy picked up

It took many years, but Sarah Jessica Parker is ready to film again for HBO in New York City. The only difference is that this time around, she is not playing Carrie Bradshaw.

Sources confirm that Parker’s much-discussed comedy pilot “Divorce” has been picked up for series at the network. Her character is Frances, a married woman who is inspired by her friends (Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam) to randomly bring up the idea of divorce to her husband. She is not sure whether or not to go through with it, but when her husband discovers that she has been having an affair, suffice it to say that some things change. The irony here is that we think that the network could have easily revived the old show for another ten episodes and made more money than we could possibly count in this article. Right now, the network’s biggest comedies are “Silicon Valley” and ”

In addition to starring in this series, Parker will also executive-produce the show alongside Sharon Horgan, who wrote the script and will serve as the showrunner.
