‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 18 preview: Is Coulson really teaming up with Ward?

Agents of SHIELD -Surprises are the name of the game on Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” more often than not, so when you look at next week’s episode that way, you really should not be too startled at all that it involves Coulson and actually teaming up with Grant Ward. “The Frenemy of My Enemy” is a fun title, and maybe that sets the stage for a fun hour of television. It may still be early to tell on the “fun” portion of this, though. For the time being, what we can really give you is the synopsis below:

“A dangerous new alliance is formed as Coulson and Hunter turn to the last person anyone would expect – Grant Ward! As the war between S.H.I.E.L.D. factions continues, Skye and Lincoln will find themselves drawn into this conflict.”

Unfortunately, the promo that aired after tonight’s episode hardly gave much of anything away about this upcoming episode, save for some reminders that there are crazy things to come … and that Marvel’s “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” hits theaters on May 1. It’s almost awkward in a way how that movie is taking precedence over everything, but you almost have to be thankful in a way. The continued success of the MCU in film is one of the biggest reasons why this show will probably be renewed. This helps to continue allowing ABC to have a great platform for all things Marvel, and to create some potentially cool crossovers.

We’ll have more scoop throughout the week, so be on the lookout!
