‘Blue Bloods’ season 5, episode 20 preview: Frank’s latest dilemma and more in ‘Payback’

Blue Bloods season 5There are only three episodes left on “Blue Bloods” season 5, and even saying that the season has blown by quickly would be understatement. There is a two-part finale coming involving gangs that will challenge Frank, Danny, and Baez in ways that they have not been challenged before. However, we do still have another episode in “Payback” to get through first, one that will yet again ask the question of whether or not Frank should do the right thing for the sake of justice, or whether or not he should do right by his friends.

As per usual, we like to think that the sneak peeks below offer up a little bit of insight. In this case, one of them does.

1. Frank’s debate – Is Tom Selleck’s character going to let a DUI of a particularly powerful Senator slide, just because of who he is? That is something that was proposed to him at some point, and he still is not answering questions regarding what he’s going to do. Also, he struggles to see the point in doing a sit-down television profile unless there is something important to promote … and he still has nothing.

As per usual, nobody plays morally conflicted quite like Selleck.

2. The Danny storyline – There’s not anything revolutionary going on here, mostly because we’ve all seen Donnie Wahlberg’s character chasing after various perps in the past. What’s the twist this time? It is really nothing other than the fact that this one is particularly dangerous … oh, and there may be some ties to a celebrity chef at some point during the hour. It’s a shame that we cannot see anything about that in this preview.
