‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 20 preview: An emotional Thomas Gibson episode

Jennifer Love Hewitt -Did you enjoy the backdoor pilot for the proposed “Criminal Minds” spin-off? “Beyond Borders” was certainly an entertaining take on something that we have not seen much of on TV before. Whether or not it will succeed as a series depends in part on the ratings tonight, and then on the decision by CBS as to whether or not they feel confident enough in the idea to justify giving it a pickup.

What we can tell you, though, is that the show will venture into more familiar territory on next week’s new episode entitled “A Place at the Table.” This is an installment featuring Ed Asner, and it will be interesting to see what happens when Thomas Gibson’s Hotch gets a real blast for the past, and face the fact that there is still plenty of tension between him and his late wife’s father. Take a look at the official synopsis below:

“When a Maryland family is found murdered at their dining room table, the team tracks down other family members and friends to uncover secrets that may have led to it.  Also, Hotch must try to make peace with his father-in-law, Roy, after discovering he’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, April 15 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.   Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Edward Asner guest stars as Hotch’s father-in-law, Roy Brooks.”

One of the big things that we do feel confident about right now is that if you love Gibson’s work on the show, this may be a chance to see him with some of his best material yet.
