‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 17 preview: Ming-Na Wen takes center stage in ‘Melinda’

For all of those who do love the Melinda May character on Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD,” we come bearing some good news: We are getting very close to seeing an all-new episode next week that is really all about her. The title for this installment is simply “Melinda,” and while we have seen bits and pieces of her journey (and even Blair Underwood) over the course of the past few weeks, we haven’t quite seen a story for her character like this one. For the most part, this is going to be a tale all about transformation for the character.

Before we do anything else, let’s go ahead and share what is the official synopsis for this episode. While May will be a man focus of the installment, Skye is also going to be dealing with some revelations of her own:

“The story of Melinda May’s transformation into “The Cavalry” is revealed as she finds herself at a crossroads in the war between Coulson and Gonzales. As Skye learns more about her true heritage from Lincoln, the truth about the Inhumans will send her in a new direction.”

The promo below made the mission for us as viewers even clearer: To figure out why exactly May was handed the nickname “The Cavalry” in the first place. This is going to be fun for May fans; as for Skye fans, you’re going to get a chance to see her further work on developing her powers.
