‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20: Michael Sam, Peta Murgatroyd react to surprising elimination

Was there a part of us who thought that Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd would be eliminated on “Dancing with the Stars” Monday night? We suppose so, since we did not quite know who the fan base was for the aspiring NFL athlete and college football star from the University of Missouri. However, there was no doubt to us that he deserved to stay. He has shown improvement over the past few weeks, and we thought he has been consistently stronger than at least three other pairs this season. We’re not going to be petty here and name names, but we do feel like some of the weaker stars are pretty obvious.

Meanwhile, Peta posted a longer message sharing her overall thoughts on her experience:

“Thank you guys for all the lovely comments and awesome support this season! @MichaelSamNFL did his best! I can’t wait to come back and perform on dwts soon! Xo.”

So what is next for these two? For Michael? This is going to be a chance for him to focus on his longtime goal on getting to play in the NFL at some point in the future. Due to his athletic ability and pedigree in college, we feel like a team is going to take a flier on him and at least sign up to a preseason camp deal.

As for Peta, she is going to be one of the pro dancers appearing on the “Dancing with the Stars” summer tour! You can see some of the dates here; Peta will tour with Val Chmerkovskiy, Emma Slater, and many more familiar faces.
