‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Wil Wheaton returns in ‘The Fortification Implementation’
Thursday night’s new episode of “The Big Bang Theory” is entitled “The Fortification Implementation,” and it’s rather funny that at the same time that “Community” is using a story that has been done in part on this show (moving tablets), this show is using something that was well-known on “Community” for many years: Blanket forts. It’s more of a Troy-Abed staple than anything that we’ve seen recently, though.
Today, CBS unveiled the full synopsis for this episode, which sounds like a whole lot of fun. Before reading it, the only story that we knew about was the arrival of Josh, a person with ties to Howard Wolowitz that may make him feel a little less alone in the world after his mother’s death:
“When Sheldon and Amy build a blanket fort, they come to major crossroads in their relationship. Also, Wolowitz meets the half-brother he never knew he had, and when Penny is invited to appear on Wil Wheaton’s podcast, she and Leonard have a huge, on-air argument.”
For those curious, director Kevin Smith is also going to have a voice-over cameo in the episode to go along with the return of Wheaton, who the show continues to find great uses for. We’re actually glad to see the show reaching out into the podcast medium at this point; this is one of the nerdier things out there, so much so that we have one at CarterMatt and have for the past year.
