‘Heroes: Reborn’ spoilers: Jimmy Jean-Louis back as the Haitian

Heroes -While we know that “Heroes: Reborn” is meant to be a reboot with largely new characters, we cannot lie here when we say that we’re pretty flippin’ pleased at the idea of seeing the Haitian back on our TV screen again. He’s a character with the ability to erase minds, and he’s such a cool, interesting guy who speaks softly and does not act unless prompted to do so.

It was Deadline today who first confirmed that Jimmy Jean-Louis will be back for some sort of extended arc as this character when the show premieres on NBC this fall. He becomes the third confirmed former “Heroes” cast member to make some sort of established appearance on the series. We already knew that Masi Oka was going to reprise his role as Hiro Nakamura, and Jack Coleman will be one of the stars as he brings back Noah Bennett a.k.a. HRG. The new cast members include former “Chuck” star Zachary Levi and “Once Upon a Time” actor Robbie Kay.

If there is one thing that “Heroes” needs to focus on if it wants to have a great season coming up, it is rather simple: They need to emphasize story first, and simplicity second. Please don’t bring in someone who can basically collect a million different powers. This is what made Sylar so cool at first, and then ultimately so over-powerful that he became ridiculous. Peter was rather similar. While we’ll miss both Zachary Quinto and Milo Ventimiglia on the show, it may be for the best.

We still have some time until the show returns, so we may have a chance to hear some other casting news in due time! For now, just head over here for some of the other latest updates.
