‘Blue Bloods’ season 5 spoilers: First details on two-part finale

Blue Bloods season 5As much as we enjoy “Blue Bloods” for the most part, we have also had one overlying concern with the show over the years: It is hard to become extremely invested in every part of it, mostly because of the fact that you have a new story every week, and almost none of them have any bearing on any that come after that. It is the ultimate procedural in that way, great for easy viewing but frustrating if you want any continuation.

This format is going to change ever-so-slightly for the upcoming two-part season 5 finale, which begins on Friday, April 24 with the installment entitled “New Rules.” You may have heard already that rapper Method Man was going to be guest-starring in the episode, and you can find out more about it in the synopsis below:

“When NYPD Deputy Chief Donald Kent, a commanding officer of the gang division, and his wife are gunned down in an apparent gang hit, Frank orders all hands on deck to catch his friend’s killer.  Working the case, Danny and Baez go see Mario Hunt, a well-known member of a deadly gang, in the first of a two-part season finale of BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 24 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Dennis Haysbert guest stars as NYPD Deputy Chief Donald Kent and Cliff “Method Man” Smith guest stars as Mario Hunt, a well-known member of a gang.”

This is further detail than the show typically gives us, either, which gives you at least some sort of sense as to how seriously this case should be taken. While we don’t get a direct sense through here that Danny, Baez or any of our other main characters are in danger, that could change pretty quickly.
