‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 20 preview: Multiple perspectives on Tony, Zoe, and ‘No Good Deed’
Tuesday night’s “NCIS” episode looks to be a very busy one. After all, “No Good Deed” is going to further along the story of Tony DiNozzo’s relationship with Zoe Keates, but there are a few more wrinkles being thrown in here that you may not see coming. For example, Robert Wagner is coming down as Tony Sr., so there is a “meet the family” aspect to the story. Also, she better prepare for a primary role in the latest investigation. The sneak peeks below sell the story.
1. Tony talks Zoe – Are they in a great place now? It certainly sounds like it, based on the fact that Tony Sr. actually wants to meet her … even though apparently, Tony Jr. previously was not ready to meet Zoe’s parents. Apparently, there is a switch that goes off at some point that changes things! Who knew?
For those of you McGee fans, this video also gives you a brief update that he and Delilah are still going strong with their relationship, even though it is very difficult with the two not even being remotely close to one another.

2. The conspiracy – Now, this is where things get tricky. A gun at the center of a case has been linked to Operation Fast and Furious, a sting that was run by ATF at one point in the past. This is what gets Gibbs and Vance in a room questioning Zoe, who informs them that there are roughly 1,400 firearms still on the loose. She has been assigned to help the team out, but with this many guns out there unaccounted for, they are going to be needing more than just a little extra manpower. They’re going to need a whole lot of luck.

We’ve barely met Zoe, and I have nothing invested in her character or her relationship with Tony. I’d be perfectly happy with this being her last episode.

I actually hope it is the end of Zoe and Tony’s relationship. Think this would change Tony into a more serious agent focused only on his work (not taking bubble baths and visiting mens groups as he did post Ziva). I’m also guessing that Papa Gibbs will not think Zoe is the right woman for him which will cause a rift between father and son. Guess we will see tonight. I thought Delilah was moving back to DC. What happened?

She did move to DC, as you can tell from Tim’s conversation with Bishop in the clip.

I am hoping that this episode doesn’t mean the end of Zoe and Tony’s relationship. I also wish we could get a story where Tony is actually is some kind of danger since only Gibbs and McGee have been cast in those kinds of stories this season. I really miss Tony being portrayed as a bad ass agent. I don’t have much hope of seeing this though since the writers seem to have no interest in showcasing Tony as a great agent or playing a significant part in a suspenseful arc. I hope they can break out of their rut and let Tony figure importantly into the finale arc instead of giving us exclusively McGibbs in all the suspenseful scenes again with Tony manning the clicker.
