‘The Blacklist’ season 2, episode 19 preview: Return date for Megan Boone, James Spader, cast
One of the luxuries about “The Blacklist” having such a short season in the fall was that it left us with a cornucopia of new episodes throughout the late winter and early spring. As a matter of fact, we’ve had roughly two straight months of new episodes. This has allowed us a chance to see Liz and Tom’s relationship turn on a dime, and her and Red working together once again to take down many blacklisters. “Vanessa Cruz” tonight was complicated, but also true to the show in so many ways.
After these two months, the unfortunate news is that NBC is going to make you wait for a little while to see the homestretch of this season. The next episode is currently scheduled for Thursday, April 23, which means that you are going to be staring two straight weeks of repeats in the face until the show returns to the air.
So while you wait, our suggestion is simple: Catch up, find out who you are ‘shipping Liz with, or create some theories about where the series is going as we near the end of the road. Producers have had the luxury of knowing for some time that they are not going anywhere, and that has to be an asset for them as they plan for the future. (NBC has already renewed “The Blacklist” for a third season.)
Based on what we saw tonight, what you should be wondering is what Tom’s role on the show is going to be now, and if there is any way Liz will be willing to work with Reddington again based on what she knows about him hiring Tom.

Last year Liz looked a lot better. It looks like she put on some pounds, and cut her hair. Was that a smart move? Most guys prefer to watch pretty girls.
Get rid of Tom. I don’t like watching him.
Red should come clean about his relationship with Liz. Everybody thinks that Red is Liz’s father. Is he? If not, what is his deal?

Love this SHOW!! Want Red 2 tell Lizzie he is her FATHER. She must forgive him. Mayb Tom was hired 2 watch over her? Don’t want Tom aka Jacob with Liz.

I would like to see them write Tom out of the show. Every time that I think that they are done with him, like a bad penny, he shows up again.
I never did like his character. When Liz and Tom were together, Red warned Liz that Tom is not who she thinks he is.
Now they let us think that Red hired Tom in the first place. On what planet does this make any sense?
If they don’t make the show start making sense, I won’t be watching much more of it.
I watch tv to relax and enjoy it. I don’t like ever changing plots and story lines.

They beat this thing to death that Red is not Lizzie’s father, yet he keeps risking his life to save her. Why on earth would he keep doing that if he didn’t love her? Why would he only work with her, when she claimed that she didn’t know him? Why did he hurt her, but she was drawn back to working with him?
Either Red is Lizzie’s father, or this who show doesn’t make sense.
As far as Tom goes, he should NEVER be trusted. When Tom was about to get shot in the head in the back of thst car, I was rooting for that to happen.
This series is getting boring. It looks like the writers are grasping at straws to come up with story lines.
How much longer are they going to prolong this series. Enough is enough already.

I don’t think Liz is Reds daughter. I think he feels responsible or is responsible for her father’s death and has been trying to make it up to her, her whole life.

What if he is her Uncle and that is revealed. Next she finds out her mom and dad left to save her and the search can be on to rescue or find them.

Thank you!!! Finally someone who sees this too. They hinted at it strongly in the episode two weeks ago when Liz took care of the harbormaster’s (or whoever he was, I forget) daughter and Red commented something about how it’s a dangerous thing as you feel guilt and then feel the need to take care of them for their whole life. I totally saw it as they were trying to give clues about why Red is like this. I will actually be really disappointed if he is her father as it would make me think less of the show as it’s the easy way out.

Drum role… Red actually dies in the next episode. Sorry for the spoiler alert! My friend works behind the scenes for the show & just got fired. Yikes. Tom ends up giving Red blood because they are the same rare blood type. Red now owes Tom his life so can’t kill him. We only find this out In the last scene as Tom is taking Reds jet down to the islands to start his new life. As he is reading a promise letter from Lizzy giving us a glimmer of hope for their future romance… The plane blows up intended for Red. As Red was about to tell Lizzy his big secret, they get the news about Tom & the cycle continues. Have fun watching… Should be a huge surprise ;) 1 week way.

Nerd alert. Apparently the fact that Liz isnt available has something to do with the episode (Tom has to step in). You’ll have to wait for those ‘riveting’ details, spoiler alert, it probably has to do with someone on the blacklist! Not sure on the details there.

Tom would never convince me he will change. (i don’t want to see them together) I didn’t like him from the beginning and my feelings have not changed. That just means he’s a very good actor and has convinced me he is bad to the bone. (ha) Doesn’t matter to me if Reddington tells Liz he’s her father or not. I love how they care deeply for each other. If he does tell her, I’m okay with it. Nothing about this show is getting old for me. I look forward to it every week. One of the best shows on television in my opinion. Finally a show not about hospitals or CSI’s. Yay!

the next episode is gonna be sick. I can’t wait to see what is gonna happen to red, now that he’s been shot just after recieving the fulcrum and yes I agree he’s gotta either be her father or someone related and close, because look how she reacted when he got shot. if she really didn’t have that kind of connection, then she wouldn’t have come to his aid

I agree that the “is Red Lizzie’s father” part of the show has gotten tiring. There are so many interesting ways this show could go if only they would move on. I am worried that they are going to lose ratings due the show becoming stale.

First of all, yes red is DEFINITELY liz’s father. And he just needs to get over himself and tell her that, and tell her everything for that matter. But I only half agree with the fact that she should get back together with Tom, because he is always going to be the same old criminal Tom, even if he says he can change. I also don’t think she should get together with Ressler, because it will just end up being some drunken mistake and they will both know it, and it would just be awkward between them for a couple of episodes, and no one wants that.

Liz & Tom need to get back together. Forget about Jacob he’s Tom Keen. Liz has his last name and it shouldn’t be changed. He can legally change he’s name to Tom Keen because that’s who he is now. Tom needs to start over with Liz with the promise that he will ALWAYS be honest to her.

Liz should discover reds scaring on his back and interrogate him where he recieved them? Why did he buy her childhood home, what was in it for him keeping it and why did he blow it up? Also ask why was he at her house as a child if he says he’s not her dad prove it. Give up her father? Explain why he’s entered her life besides the fulcrum.

This is what I want to see…Red needs to tell Lizzie he’s her father when he sees how much pain she’s going through now that she knows he hired Tom. Then Lizzie and Tom get back together only when he proves to her he’ll be honest from now on. Lizzie makes a deal with Red that she continue to keep working with him only if he can guarantee Tom’s safety and can keeps him in her life, except now they’re starting over and he’s himself (as Jacob). They get preggers and Lizzie tells Red he’s going to be a grandfather ?. A bit much for the few episodes???
