As someone who considers “Chuck” to be one of the greatest shows in the history of all things TV, we basically loved the new promo for “iZombie” from the moment Liv uttered “I know kung fu.” Her Intersect is her brain! Well, it’s actually more the brains of someone else. Close enough.
Next week’s new episode is entitled “Liv and Let Clive,” and it is going to further develop the dynamic between the two people mentioned in the title … but why wouldn’t Clive want a little bit of her help? That is going to place her in a very complicated position, given that she and Ravi want to continue investigating. The “going rogue” storyline is one that has unfolded in a variety of different crime shows, and “iZombie” is proving itself already to be a deconstruction of many of these familiar tropes and themes. Having an added layer courtesy of an undead crime investigator really makes that deconstruction so much easier.
For some other news in terms of what to expect within this episode, take a look at the attached synopsis:
“When Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) identifies a John Doe in the morgue as one of his former criminal contacts from his days on the vice squad, Liv (Rose McIver) is surprised that Clive is so quick to refuse her help in solving the murder. Liv and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) investigate on their own which puts them in a precarious situation. Liv’s problems continue to mount when Major (Robert Buckley) begins searching for a roommate and she believes he’s considering a cute co-ed.”
