‘The Mindy Project’ season 4: Mindy Kaling on renewal hopes
Could we be seeing “The Mindy Project” back on the air at some point in the fall? While it is far from a sure thing at the moment, this is something that is at least possible as we near the season finale on Tuesday night. After all, we at least know that the show has a chance of coming back for more. One of the biggest reasons we’re personally hopeful? Syndication, and the fact that the show is fairly close to making it to that milestone. The only reason we’re remotely nervous at the moment is also fairly simple: The ratings have not been particularly great this season. Anytime we see that, we always have reason to have a little bit of pause.
In promoting the finale, we have at least gotten a few more great quotes from Mindy Kaling herself! Speaking to TVLine, she passed along the following in terms of how she is feeling about the show, and her hopes that it does continue in some way:
“We’ve never been a show… where anyone has ever said, ‘Yes, we’re for sure going to keep going … I still have my personality, which is hopeful and cheerful. I’m so proud of the show, so I feel good about it. I feel good about seeing more of Jeremy, Mindy, Morgan and all the rest of them having adventures.”
At this point, it ultimately could be May when we start to figure out just when the show is going to be coming back. We’d hope that Fox would be kind enough to announce a renewal before then, but there are no guarantees.
