‘Better Call Saul’ episode 9 preview: Mike gets back to business

Better Call Saul season 1While of course the majority of “Better Call Saul” has revolved around the story of Jimmy McGill, there has been a nice B-plot that has taken place almost throughout the entire story: How Mike Ehrmantraut goes from ticket guy at a parking lot to a guy who does very bad things for money. In a way that has some similarities to Walter White, he is doing it for the good of his family. The only difference is that his family is his daughter-in-law and his granddaughter. He realizes they need help, and he will do whatever he can to make that happen.

After his impromptu visit at the vet on Monday night’s new episode, we are going to see moving forward a very different sort of journey for Mike, one that ends up ultimately taking him in some more than surprising directions.

Meanwhile, Jimmy McGill is going to be keeping his own personal crusade alive to work his his brother on taking down the nursing home. Chuck seems to be fully acclimated to being outside once this installment comes around, but they have some significant challenges that are coming up. One of them seems to be Chuck’s own firm getting involved, now that they know that there is a significant amount of skin in the game. Either word got around, or Kim decided to tell them about what is going on.

In the end, the one thing that we can say is that this episode, the penultimate one of the season, looks crazy.
